– Which issues of your country’s domestic and foreign agenda, which national civic initiatives and specific upcoming events, in your view, should attract the attention of foreign media in order to fully demonstrate your country’s role and contribution to the development of multilateral relations and the growth of mutual understanding between peoples?
– Foreign media should focus on India’s leadership in multilateral forums such as the G20 follow-up and BRICS 2026, its role as a voice of the Global South, and its balanced, dialogue-driven foreign policy. Attention to India’s digital public infrastructure, green transition, and inclusive development models would highlight its global relevance. Coverage of people-centric initiatives, cultural diplomacy, and major international events hosted by India would further showcase its contribution to strengthening multilateral cooperation and mutual understanding among nations.
– What stereotypes about your country are currently widespread in public opinion in other states? How can journalists and media from other countries help to debunk these stereotypes and promote a relevant, modern image of your country?
– India is often stereotyped abroad as mainly poor, traditional, or inward-looking, with its diversity, innovation, and global role underreported. Foreign journalists can help counter these views by highlighting India’s technological progress, inclusive growth, cultural pluralism, and active role in multilateral diplomacy, while telling people-centric stories that reflect a modern, confident, and globally engaged nation.
– What is your attitude toward the idea of creating a single Eurasian information space? In what formats, in your opinion, can and should interaction between media from different countries be developed? Do you have experience of international cooperation with journalists and editorial offices from other states? How useful and important has this experience been?
– I view the idea of a single Eurasian information space positively, as long as it is inclusive, transparent, and respects media independence. Media cooperation can grow through joint reporting, content exchanges, journalist exchanges, editorial dialogues, and collaboration on digital and multilingual platforms. I have experience working with journalists and editorial offices from other countries, and this cooperation has been highly useful in broadening perspectives, improving reporting quality, and strengthening mutual understanding across borders.
– In your opinion, does an “ideal media outlet” exist in today’s world, and is it possible in principle? Could you name a publication or a specific journalist (from any era) who, in your view, has an impeccable reputation and authority?
